OUR STORY

East meets West - in the Midwest - and the rest is history

Will & Carolina met and soon fell in love at the University of Michigan. When Will graduated in 2018 and moved to DC, he and Carolina stayed together while she finished her senior year in Ann Arbor. Upon Carolina graduating in 2019 and moving back to the Bay Area, Will then moved to Chicago - meaning more distance and continued frequent trips to be together, wherever and whenever possible. But by early 2021, Will finally completed the cross-country move, joining Carolina in San Francisco.

Living together in their NOPA apartment these ensuing years, Will & Carolina fell only deeper in love, bonded over the Northern California coast, and brought home their first puppy, Monroe, named after the street they both lived on during their earliest days together back in Ann Arbor.

In November 2023, the two were engaged and they can’t wait to officially tie the knot with you all come October 2025 at The Sea Ranch Lodge!

TRAVEL

Getting to Sea Ranch

We recommend flying into San Francisco or Oakland airport and renting a car.

Sea Ranch is around a 3 hour drive up the Northern California coast. While beautiful, Highway 1 is also very winding, so please take your time and enjoy the views!

If you have extra time on the journey, we would love to share recommendations for stops along the way from the Bay Area to Sea Ranch.

──────────────────────────────────────────

Hook Fish Co. at Proof Lab Beer Garden

One of Will and Carolina's favorite spots in Mill Valley (just north of San Francisco)! Hook Fish offers fresh and delicious seafood to the tune of ceviche, oysters, and fish sandwiches (we would highly recommend the poké burrito). Hook Fish is connected to Proof Lab Beer Garden, so it's a perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner, sit outside in the beer garden, and sip a beer on tap. There is a coffee shop right next door if you're in the market for some caffeination as well!

Café Aquatica

A quaint café located in Jenner, a little under an hour from Sea Ranch, with delicious coffee and fresh food with a view of Russian River (and sometimes live music). Another great place to stop for a bite or a pick-me-up along the way. Please note that their kitchen closes at 4pm!

Sonoma County Wineries

If you have some extra time along your journey, Sonoma is only around 30 minutes out of the way and offers a range of wineries on par with Napa. A few recommendations for winery tours, where walk-ins welcome:

STAY

Wedding Accommodations

We recommend booking as soon as possible as lodging in the area is somewhat limited. There is also limited availability to stay at The Sea Ranch Lodge, our wedding venue. Please see the link below for more details and contact us directly if you're interested in staying there.

Hotels

There are also a number of hotel options in Gualala, about 15-20 minutes north of Sea Ranch. We have room blocks at Rendezvous Mendocino, so please contact us directly if you're interested in staying there.

**Please note that Timber Cove is around 30 minutes south of Sea Ranch in Jenner and will not be on the list for provided transportation. As there are no Ubers in the area, you will need to drive to and from The Sea Ranch Lodge.

EXPLORE SEA RANCH

GUALALA POINT REGIONAL PARK

A 103-acre park maintained by the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department containing several coastal trails great for incredible ocean views as well as of the striking architecture of Sea Ranch.

WALK-ON BEACH

Terrible name, gorgeous place! A beautiful trail leads you through the woods and then out onto the bluffs. You'll see a smaller cove first, but if you continue following the trail you'll come across a set of stairs down to a half-mile long stretch of beach. Come here when the tide is out so that you can enjoy an endless array of tide pools full of mussels, sea snails, giant green sea anemones, orange & purple starfish, and more.

SHELL BEACH

Walk through a cypress-tree lined trail, arriving at a bluff with beach access / fun coves that weave in and out of the shoreline. If you're lucky, you'll see some seals and their pups!

BLACK POINT

A short walk from the parking lot will take you to a curving quarter-mile beach with great views that's popular for surfing.

THE SEA RANCH LINKS

Designed by Robert Muir Graves and completed in 1974, the first nine holes at The Sea Ranch Golf Links immediately jumped onto the list of exciting and scenic golf destinations. In 1995, this “Gem of the Seaside” links was completed at 6649 yards, par 72, when Graves’ second nine was opened. The course’s blend of undulating seaside landscape with Scottish links-style architecture was a first on the West Coast.
